Sandra K. (Weigel) Irish

Sandra “Sandy” K. (Weigel) Irish, age 77, of Tafton, died at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 21, 2025. Sandy was born on Monday, August 25, 1947, in Mechanicsburg to the late Park Weigel and Beulah A. (Fisher) Weigel. Sandy was the widow of George Phillip Irish, Sr., whom she married on May 27, 1971, and who died on January 20, 2024. In addition to her parents and husband, Sandy is preceded in death by her son: George P. Irish, Jr.

Sandy’s survivors include her two daughters: Diane Petrowski and husband Brian, of Tafton, Lynn Stought of Tafton; her granddaughter: Breanne Petrowski of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Sandy attended Cumberland Valley High School. She was a NASCAR racing enthusiast, with Jeff Gordon being her favorite driver. Sandy was an avid bowler, notable for her remarkable 300 game accomplishment. Her swimming pool was also a cherished haven, perfect for leisurely afternoons spent sunbathing. Sandy will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in her life.

All are welcome to join Sandy’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. A graveside service will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, 1385 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007 with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.
