Sandra “Sandy” Sue Boothe
Sandy Boothe, 78, a lifelong resident of Harrisburg, died peacefully at home with family by her side. Her parents were William and Suzanne Boothe of Harrisburg and Sun City Center, FL.
After graduating from Susquehanna Township High School in 1963, Sandy attended Temple Nursing School in Philadelphia.
Sandy’s love of music was evident early on, singing in church choirs throughout her life, and eventually with the Central Pennsylvania Womyn's Chorus for over 15 years. She served on the board of CPWC and continued as a volunteer. Sandy also volunteered as an usher with the Hershey Theatre for 20 years and as a guide at the William Penn Museum. She attended Unity Church of Harrisburg and Palmyra, serving as Board President.
Sandy enjoyed cooking and was particularly good at baking. She spent hours designing and meticulously crafting specialty cakes to the delight of friends and family alike. Memorable creations included a batman cake for her son, a big bird cake for her daughter, and a Superbowl cake with team colors and emblems to name a few.
Sandy had a long and recognized career in real estate, both in sales and as an assistant broker. She enjoyed the interaction with people to help them find just the right place to settle in. She was recognized on multiple occasions, including the Residential Presidents Cup, Agent of the Year (1988), Five Year Winner Circle and Five Million Dollar Club.
After taking a break from real estate, Sandy formed her own in-home business promoting health and wellness strategies. At the same time, she spent 15 years as a benefits educator and enroller, consistently being recognized as a top producer of life insurance and auxiliary benefits.
Once Sandy finally decided to leave work behind, she was free to travel the world. Her adventures took her to many international destinations, including Iceland, New Zealand, multiple countries in Central and South America and several island destinations. She enjoyed hiking, kayaking, fishing and exploring in nature.
Sandy was always looking for ways to better her life and that of others. She gave her all to everything she did, for all whom she loved for as long as she could.
Sandy was predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn S. Lewis. In her memory, Sandy served on the Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years.
Sandy is survived by her son, Scott Lewis of Mechanicsburg and her brother, William Boothe Jr. of Harrisburg. She will be missed by so many: family, friends, the Golden Girls, her partner Julie Metzger and their rescue cats, Marley and Mazey.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice for All Seasons Foundation (280 South Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028) or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (4309 Linglestown Road, Suite 108, Harrisburg, PA 17112).
