Saundra Kay (Kimmel) Gilbert

Saundra Kay (Kimmel) Gilbert, age 82, of Etters, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Saundra was born on Thursday, December 10, 1942, in Harrisburg to the late Mary Beatrice (Kimmel) Myers. In addition to her mother, Saundra is preceded in death by son: Jack Gilbert, Jr; her grandson: Jack Gilbert III; and her half-brother: Victor Myers.

Saundra’s survivors include her three daughters: Kelly R. Gilbert and wife, Jayne, of New Cumberland, Lori Gilbert of Etters, Jamie Snook of York; her three grandchildren: Tara Kramer, Ryan Gilbert, Bethani Garland; her two great-grandchildren: Ryder, and Marlee; her twin sister: Marsha Rockwell; and several nieces and nephews.

Saundra graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1961. She retired from Naval Support Activity Center in Mechanicsburg, after 30 years of service working as a secretary. Saundra enjoyed having tea with friends and her sister, Marsha. Her family was always her primary focus. She cherished moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and her sister. Saundra’s favorite pastimes included shopping, cooking, baking, and working in her yard and flower beds. She will be remembered as a loving mother. Saundra will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

All are welcome to join Saundra’s family at her visitation on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
