Sherrie Lou (Davenport) Rank, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Mechanicsburg, PA at the age of 66. Sherrie was born on Monday, June 29, 1959, in Coudersport, PA, to the late Lewis Walter Davenport and Shirley Anne (Smith) Davenport. In addition to her parents, Sherrie was preceded in death by her two siblings; Tom Davenport and Anne Davenport, whose memories she carried lovingly in her heart. Sherrie lived a life full of warmth, dedication, and vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Sherrie survivors include her loving husband of 38 years, Michael L. Rank, who stood by her side through life’s adventures; her two sons: Emory Rank and his wife Natasha of Boiling Springs, and Courtney Rank and his wife Beth of Denver, CO; her four grandchildren: Chance Rank, Chase Rank, Alexis Rank, and Madeline Rank; and her two siblings, Tim Davenport of Mainesburg, PA, and Nancy Poutze of Knoxville, PA.

Sherrie’s career was marked by many years of loyal service as an analyst for the State of Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Her keen insight and steadfast commitment made her an invaluable asset to her colleagues and to the community she served. Yet, it was not just her professional achievements that defined her—it was the way she could light up a room with her smile and her captivating personality. Those who knew Sherrie often say, “If you met Sherrie, you knew Sherrie,” capturing the essence of a woman whose presence was unforgettable.

After retiring, Sherrie embraced her creative passions, turning to crafts where she poured her heart into painting glasses through her small craft business, then selling jewelry. This new chapter allowed her to share her artistic talents with those around her and brought her great joy. She adored traveling alongside her husband, Michael, exploring places both near and far—including the Sphere in Las Vegas, various State Parks, the majestic Grand Canyon, and the nostalgic Walton’s homestead. Among these travels, her favorite destination was Myrtle Beach, where she cherished quiet moments on the balcony, inhaling the ocean breeze and savoring the panoramic views—moments that brought her profound peace and happiness.

Her loss is deeply felt by family and friends alike. Sherrie’s radiant light, her generous spirit, and the love she freely gave will forever echo in the lives of all she touched. Though she has left this world, the bonds she forged remain unbroken, and the memory of who she was will continue to inspire and comfort those who loved her most. Her story is one of love, laughter, and warmth—a beautiful legacy that endures in the hearts of many.

Sherrie's family will be remembering her life privately.
