Shirley Jean (Hanna) Scott

Shirley Jean (Hanna) Scott, age 73, of Mechanicsburg, died on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Shirley was born on Saturday, November 10, 1951, in Phillipsburg to the late Thomas Lynn Hanna and Catherine Hazel (Hunklendire) Diamond. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her three siblings: Phyllis, Aud, and Bob.

Shirley’s survivors include her husband of 53 years, Dale Wesley Scott; her daughter: Dawn Marie Merris and her husband Kevin of Mechanicsburg; her two brothers: Thomas Hanna and John Hanna; and her grandchildren: Brooke and Cameron.

Shirley worked with her husband to run Dale Scott Trucking for 15 years. Together they made a wonderful team and they were able to retire and travel together for seven years. Shirley loved travelling in their camper van and went all over the United States. From Yellowstone National Park to Harold Warp’s Pioneer Village, beautiful caves to various historical sites, Shirley was never short on new experiences. She will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Shirley’s family will be remembering her life privately. Scattering will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
