Steven Richard Sattazahn, age 76, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Schaefferstown, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on Monday, January 9, 1950, in Lebanon to the late Clarence W. Sattazahn and Marian (Frantz) Sattazahn. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Sattazahn and his sister, Diana Shenk.
Steve’s survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Bertha (Boose) Sattazahn; his two children: Emily Albright and husband, Justin, of Mechanicsburg and Brent Sattazahn of Mechanicsburg; his daughter-in-law, Sondra Sattazahn of Glen Rock; his six grandchildren: Hannah Butler, Jarett Albright, Alexander Sattazahn, Rachel Butler, Kathyrn Sattazahn, and Elias Albright; his sister, Virginia Hart and husband, LeRoy, of Mohnton; and many nieces and nephews
Steve faithfully attended Wyndamere Heights E.C. Church for over 30 years, serving as the church treasurer for the entirety of his time there. Steve was a lifelong Penn State fan and you could always find him cheering on his team during football season, followed by his Sunday afternoon tradition of watching a movie. An avid puzzler and gamer, Steve enjoyed working on all types of puzzles and playing all kinds of games with his family. A devoted husband and father, Steve loved taking his family to North Myrtle Beach, their favorite vacation spot. As a couple, Steve and his wife, Bert, loved to travel all over the world, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. He was also fortunate enough to travel the world as a Navy civilian. Having worked for the NAVSUP Business System Center the entirety of his 41 year career, Steve retired as an IT Manager and Division Director.
All are welcome to join Steve’s family at his viewing on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Timothy Hart officiating. Steve’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
