Steven Alan Sheely, Jr. was born on April 20, 1974, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He left this world on July 22, 2025, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and fond memories.
Steven, affectionately known as Stevie, was a devoted forklift operator at Saia LTL Freight, where his warm spirit and contagious sense of humor endeared him to colleagues and friends alike. A proud graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Class of 1993, he moved through life with a light-hearted approach that made every moment with him memorable.
Stevie cherished time spent with his family, especially through playful antics that often involved harmless teasing and practical jokes. One particularly amusing memory is how he would coax his sister Teresa into doing silly things, such as eating an entire shrimp (tail, feet and shell) showcasing both his playful spirit and the warmth of their sibling bond. Stevie loved to travel with his father and had fond memories of their trip to the Superbowl in Atlanta and their trips to the islands. Stevie would also often take his Mother and Daughter to Disney world and travel to the beaches around Orlando.
Stevie was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting teams such as the Washington Redskins (now Commanders), the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Tampa Bay Lightning. His love for sports only mirrored his vibrant personality and the joy he found in both competition and camaraderie. Beyond sports, Stevie found pleasure in relaxing while watching true crime shows and delving into true crime literature. This unique interest was but one facet of a man whose personality could light up a room. He was known for being a big teddy bear and was dedicated to making people smile, always ready with a joke or a friendly quip. His love for rock and metal music often accompanied him during gatherings, where his passion for life and engaging with others radiated. He enjoyed shopping for clothes, going out for nice dinners, and playing video games, activities that offered him joy and connection with others.
Stevie is survived by his beloved daughter, Alexis Sheely, as well as his father, Steven Sheely, Sr. & his step-mom, Stacy Sheely, his mother, Audrey Weit, his cherished sister, Teresa Sheely, and his aunt on his mother’s side, Arlene Watson. His family will remember him not only for his cherished quirks and jovial nature but also for the genuine love and uplifting energy he brought into their lives.
Though Stevie has departed from us, his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter, kindness, and zest for life will be dearly missed, yet fondly remembered by all.
