Susan Helen Goodbred, born on July 29, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, departed this life on October 29, 2025, in Mechanicsburg. A beloved Wife, Mother and Omi to 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren, she touched the lives of so many with her genuine warmth, kindness, and tremendous love for everyone.
Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, John Goodbred, with whom she shared a profound bond of love and partnership; her two sons, John R. Goodbred, Jr.(Christy) and Dr. Andrew Goodbred(Marcey) her daughter, Erin (Christian) Williams; and her treasured grandchildren, Kyle, Elyse, and Emma Goodbred, Abigail Bossert (Williams), Ellie Williams, Sean, Benjamin and Evan Goodbred, and great grandchildren Theo and Sophie Goodbred. Her family was the light of her life, and she took immense joy in their accomplishments and happiness.
She is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Ethel Simcho, who shaped the values and character that Sue carried with her throughout her life.
A stay at home mother for all her life, Sue lived for her family. She could always be found volunteering in the classroom, library or cafeteria and was her children and grandchildrens’ biggest cheerleader. An avid bird lover, Sue could often be found calling to the birds who eagerly responded, playing with her chocolate labrador, Buddy, a constant companion, or befriending anyone and everyone she met. A light to so many, Sue was known for her huge heart and capacity to love. She indeed filled our hearts with the knowledge of her unwavering love for each and every one of us.
