Thomas “Tom” Francis Shaw, age 66, of Mechanicsburg, died on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Tom was born on Monday, August 3, 1959, in Newport, RI to the late Miles Shaw and Barbara (Murphy) Shaw.
Tom’s survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Patsy “Pat” Dolores (Rupp) Shaw; his four siblings: Myles Shaw and wife, Connie, of Franklin, VA, Robert Shaw and wife, Deb, of Millersburg, Patricia “Patty” Maloof of Newport, RI, Kathy Pepperman of Mechanicsburg; his sister-in-law: Dianne Rupp of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Tom graduated from Central Dauphin East High School as part of the class of 1978 and from Penn State University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He retired from Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, after 32 years of service working as a Logistic Management Specialist. Tom was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg, having joined in 1996. He had a passion for collecting radios and 0 scale model trains. Tom’s expertise in computer systems spanned from old to new. He also was an enthusiastic ham radio operator. Tom’s leisure activities included watching vintage TV shows and playing vintage games.
All are welcome to join Tom’s family at his Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service beginning at 11:15 a.m. all at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 132 E. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Barbara Barry officiating. Tom’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the church immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Cremation was private.
