Dedicated and Active Lion -

Timothy “Tim” Clair McCaulley, age 73, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, after a courageous battle with melanoma.  Tim was born on Tuesday, February 4, 1947, in Altoona the son of the late Harold McCaulley and Anna (Bishop) McCaulley.

Tim’s survivors include his devoted wife of 50 years, Lana Kay (Creamer) McCaulley; his daughter, Erica McCaulley and her wife, Melanie Vollmer, of Leesburg, VA; and his beloved and heartbroken feline companion, Izzy.

Tim graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1965 and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.  He retired from Yale Electric Supply (formerly Fluorescent Supply Co.) in Harrisburg, after many years of service.  Tim, along with his wife Lana, was a devoted and active Lion who deeply believed that all Lions are, “On a Mission of Service”.  He was a long-time member of the Mechanicsburg Lions Club where he served two terms as President and many years as the Bingo Chairperson as well as being a 30 year former director of the Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge Camp.  Tim was recognized as a Melvin Jones Fellow for his selfless contributions to the Lions.

Tim and his wife, Lana, loved pin trading with fellow Lions from all over the world.  Their impressive and extensive collection of pins began in Atlanta in 1982 when they attended their first pin swap.  Tim served as a former director of the Lions International Pin Trading Club, as a past president of the Pin Traders Club of Pennsylvania and as co-chair of the PTPC Swaps.  In addition to collecting Lions pins, Tim was an avid collector of many things including beer bottles, comic books, baseball cards, Planters Peanuts memorabilia, premium spirits, Penn State collectibles and so much more.  Tim was a genuine and caring person with a close circle of true friends and he will be missed.

All are welcome to join Tim’s family on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, for his in-person walk-through viewing from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and, via internet or telephone, for his virtual gathering from 12:45 p.m. until time of virtual viewing at 1:15 p.m. and service beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Burial will begin at approximately 2:45 p.m. in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.
