Walter “Wally” Albert Cox, 80, of Carlisle died at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and in the presence of his loving daughter, Cathy, on Monday, June 18, 2012.  He was born in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, March 22, 1932, son of the late Clifford Clarence Cox, Sr. and Eva Grace (Campbell) Cox.  Wally was the widower of Alberta Eilene G. Cox who died in 1995.

Wally was a proud Air Force Veteran with over 20 years of service.  He was a wonderful and kind hearted person who would help anyone.  Wally was a great father, loving husband and proud grandfather.  He was a big jokester, loving a good laugh.  Wally will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Wally’s survivors include his loving daughter: Catherine “Cathy” Terry (Cox) Cramer and her husband Alfred of Carlisle; his three sons: Jeffrey Cox and Alfred Cox both of Carlisle, David Cox and his wife Chris of Dillsburg; his four grandchildren; his two sisters: Grace Hester of Tionesta, Nancy Budziszewski of Shermansdale; his two brothers: Thomas Cox of Pittsburgh, James Cox of New York; and several nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Wally in death are his brother, Clifford C. Cox, Jr.

All are welcome to join Wally’s family at his viewing on Friday, June 22, 2012, from 1:30 until time of service at 2:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, 17055, with Elder Thomas Cox officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park in Camp Hill, where military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard . Wally’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship following the service.

The family respectfully asks that contributions be made to Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17055, to help defray Wally’s final expenses.  The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Myers-Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory for their kindness during this difficult time.
