Wendy S. Shue, 67, of Lemoyne, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her home.  Wendy’s primary care taker and husband of 35 years, Thomas “Tom” Howard Shue, passed away less than two months after her on April 4, 2023.  Born in Phoenix, AZ, on Wednesday, March 2, 1955, Wendy was the daughter of the late Wallace and Evelyn Melander.

Wendy moved to Pennsylvania as a young adult and decided to make it her home after finding meaningful work as a nanny for a local family.  Although she cared for that family for over 30 years, her true life passion was being a mother to her three children and she adored all of her grandchildren.  Both Wendy and her husband, Tom, were music enthusiasts, but shared no musical talent between them, much to their children’s dismay.  They both enjoyed the beach; Wendy the water and Tom the sun and sand.  Although they were very much the definition of “opposites attract”, they were committed to each other.  Wendy loved good Mexican food, 70s classic rock music and had a sweet tooth - a trait that was passed along to all of her children.

Wendy’s survivors include her three children: Jessica McCloskey and her husband, Patrick, of Elizabethtown; Thomas Shue of Lemoyne; Emily Johnson and her husband, Matthew, of New Cumberland; her six grandchildren: Audrey, Camden, Kellan, Ryder, Hollis, Maverick; her two sisters: Jeanne Birney of Washington; Laurie Dunnagan of Alaska; and one niece.

All are invited to come celebrate and remember Tom and Wendy at their celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 3:15 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Cremation was private.
