William “Bill” Earl Wallace, age 88, of Gulfport, Mississippi, and formerly of Mechanicsburg and Yuma, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Bill was born on Thursday, February 25, 1937, in Start, Louisiana to the late Troy Wallace and Gladys L. (Cleveland) Nugent. Bill was the widower of Yvonne Kay (Joly) Wallace, who died on January 2, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill is preceded in death by his two siblings: Jimmy Wallace and Mary Lou Thompson.

Bill’s survivors include his three children: William “Billy” Leroy Wallace of Greenwood, Louisiana, Debra Lavallee and husband, Ray, of Moyock, North Carolina, Kimberlee Smith of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; his five grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; and his sister: Ruby Hamilton of Houston, Texas.

Bill served his country in the United States Navy and later retired from Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg, after 20 years of service working as an Equipment Specialist. Bill was an avid fisherman and a member of the VFW in Mechanicsburg. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Bill’s family will be celebrating his life privately. Burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville will be at the family’s convenience.
