Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather -

William “Bill” Andrew Zuzack, age 73, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Latrobe and Indiana, PA, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022.  Bill was born on Wednesday, July 28, 1948, in Latrobe to the late Andrew Zuzack and Grace Lucille (Campbell) Zuzack.    In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine “Katie” Szymonowicz.

Bill’s survivors include his wife of 47 years, Christine Ann (Pavlik) Zuzack; his two sons: Michael Andrew Zuzack of Bethel Park and Zachary Alexander Zuzack of Allston, MA; his two grandchildren: Grace Ann and Samantha “Sammie” Jane Szymonowicz of White House Station, NJ; his three brothers: Kenneth “Putter” Zuzack and his wife, Patricia, of Rising Sun, MD; John “Jack” Zuzack and his wife, Marie, of Vero Beach, FL; James “Jim” Zuzack and his wife, Judy, of Slippery Rock; his son-in-law, Jerry Szymonowicz of White House Station, NJ; his two brothers-in-law: Timothy Pavlik and wife, Maureen, of Pittsburgh and Stephen Pavlik and wife, Janis, of Carmel Valley, CA; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Cairn Terrier, Maggie.

Bill graduated from Latrobe High School as part of the class of 1966, from Grove City College in 1970 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in business administration.  He retired from Specialty Glass in Kittanning, in 1999 working as a mechanical engineer.  Bill was a member of the Harrisburg Bridge Club, the Mechanicsburg Sportsman’s Club, and a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Being from Latrobe, Bill was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.  Bill’s passion was sports cars, and he owned several, including a Triumph, a mini cooper, and his favorite, an Austin-Healey bugged eyed Sprite.  Bill totally rebuilt the Sprite’s engine after he purchased it.  He also loved to watch the collector car auctions on television.  His favorites being, the Mecum auto auctions and Barrett Jackson auto auctions.  Bill loved to shoot Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.  He often shot at the Mechanicsburg Sportsman’s Club in Mechanicsburg and at Seven Springs with his brother-in-law.  Bill will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

All are welcome to join Bill’s family on Friday, March 11, 2022 at his afternoon gathering of family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.; his evening gathering of family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a time of remembrance at 6:30 p.m., at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); and his virtual gathering of family and friends and time of remembrance via video chat or telephone beginning at 6:15 p.m.; with Reverend George A. Spangler celebrating.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.   Cremation was private.
