Ada Jane (Zimmerman) Lynn, age 78, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 1, 2020.  Ada was born on Thursday, January 22, 1942, in Mechanicsburg to the late George Leroy Zimmerman and Florence Grace (Swanger) Zimmerman.  Ada was the widow of Randall “Randy” Edward Lynn, whom she married on March 25, 1967, and who died on September 6, 2007.  In addition to her parents and husband, Ada is preceded in death by her daughter, Nina Marie Tobery; her grandson, Jason Lynn; her two great-grandchildren, Zoey Cummings and Kevin Collier; her four brothers: Harold Powell, Donald Zimmerman, Ronald Zimmerman, and Larry Zimmerman; her sister, Betty Louise Huey; and her beloved feline, Dot.

Ada’s survivors include her three children: Randall “Randy” Lee Lynn and companion Heather Bickle of East Waterford, Victor “Vic” George Lynn and wife Melainie of Ickesburg, Kathy Scheffler of New Bloomfield; her 12 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; her three brothers: Leroy Henry Zimmerman of Carlisle, William Lester Zimmerman of Mt. Holly Springs, Robert Harold Zimmerman of Manchester, Connecticut; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved feline companions, Sparky and Calico.

Ada graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1961.  She retired from Bethany Village in Mechanicsburg in 1997 after many years of service working as a housekeeper.  Ada was a very active member of First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.  Creative and crafty; Ada designed picture boards for the many family reunions she enjoyed attending, and she crocheted - without patterns - countless gift items for family and friends, such as candles, toilet paper covers, scarves and hats.  Ada was famous for her sweet rice that no one else in the family could make as good as hers.  She loved to watch NASCAR races and was Jimmie Johnson’s greatest fan.  She also loved to watch the Pennsylvania Farm Show, especially the sheep to shawl competition.  Ada always look after her friends and family; caring for them with lots of love and attention.  Her family and friends will miss Ada very dearly.

Ada’s immediate services will be private while family and friends are encouraged to remain safely at home. Cremation was private.
