Betty June (Breakiron) Antonik, age 76, of Wilmington, NC, and formerly of Johnstown, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 5, 2020.  Betty was born on Thursday, February 17, 1944, in Morgantown, WV to the late Harold Wayne and Edith M. Breakiron.  Betty was the widow of Mike Antonik, whom she married in December of 1963, and who died on April 23, 2017.  In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lori Dolinski Antonik; and her three faithful feline companions: Maggie, Marley, and Bailey.

Betty’s survivors include her three children: Marnie L. Antonik and significant other Michael of Harrisburg, PA, Mark W. Antonik of Apex, NC, Michael R. Antonik of Charlotte, NC; her seven grandchildren: Kyli Rodriguez-Cayro of Utah, Devon Rodriguez-Cayro of Pennsylvania, Shawn Antonik, Nate Antonik, Jake Antonik, Zack Rodriguez-Cayro, and P.J. Antonik, all of North Carolina; her two sisters: Carole Clinger and Linda Jordan, both of West Virginia; and her beloved feline friend, Precious.

Betty graduated from Morgantown High School as part of the class of 1962.  She retired from Lee Hospital in Johnstown after many years of service working as a medical secretary in the oncology department.  Betty was a very active and lifelong member of Westmont Presbyterian Church in Johnstown.  She enjoyed creating necklace pendants and attending craft fairs.  Betty loved going out to eat, shopping, and traveling with her husband and friends.  She especially liked beach trips with Mike.  The two were very social, always having friends over and gatherings on their front porch.  Betty’s most treasured times were spent with her grandchildren.  She was enthusiastic about making the holidays special, and Betty’s family will miss her touches with decorating and special meals she prepared.

Services will be held at a later date and posted on our website once Betty’s family has finalized the details.
