Cherished Her Family -

Brenda “Bren” Jean (Farrington) Farrington, age 44, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died at UPMC – Montefiore in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 1, 2020.  Bren was born on Wednesday, June 13, 1975 in Sparta, NC to the late Estel Freeman and Mary Joann (Dutton) Acker.

Bren’s survivors include her wife of 15 years, Jennifer “Jen” Danielle Sherman of Mechanicsburg; her two sons: Hunter Steele Williams of Mechanicsburg and Noah Alexander Williams of Mechanicsburg; her sister: Bobby Jo McKinney of Joppa, MD; her niece, Destany “Plum” Joanna Farrington of Joppa, MD and her longtime friend, Janine Kae Hill of Harrisburg.

Bren was a graduate of McCann School of Business in 2014 with a degree in Medical Assisting and was working as a medical assistant for UPMC Internal Medicine – Union Deposit in Harrisburg.  As often as she could, Bren loved to enjoy the stillness of a quiet morning with a hot cup of coffee.  She also enjoyed many kinds of music, but her favorite was country music.  Bren was known as a legend behind the karaoke microphone, whose rendition of “No Place That Far” rivaled that of Sara Evans’.  Anytime the Baltimore Ravens played, Bren would don her favorite jersey and cheer loudly for her favorite team.  Out of all the things that Bren loved, none were more important to her than the time that she spent with her family and close friends.  She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

All are welcome to join Bren’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Monday, February 10, 2020, from 10:30 a.m. until time of her memorial service at 12:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating.  Bren’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Cremation was private.
