Carol Linnea (Widell) Shover Blackwell, age 84, of Audubon, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.  Carol was born on Friday, August 6, 1937, in Camden, New Jersey to the late Carl Bertil Widell and Marietta (King) Widell.  Carol was the widow of Lawrence Jacob Shover, Jr., whom she married on October 15, 1955, and who died on November 16, 1983, and she was the widow of David “Mike” Michael Blackwell, whom she married on April 15, 2000, and who died on October 21, 2015.  In addition to her parents and husbands, Carol is preceded in death by her sister, Marietta “Connie” Constance Herron.

Carol’s survivors include her three children: Lawrence “Larry” Matthew Shover and his wife, Maribeth, of Prospect Heights, Illinois; Andrew “Andy” Timothy Shover and his wife, Kathleen, of Riverton, New Jersey; Carol Ann Henry and her husband, Mark, of Camp Hill; her nine grandchildren: Andrea Day and her husband, Daniel; Andrew Henry and his wife, Sarabrynn; Eric Henry; Megan Wright and her husband, Mitch; Tim Shover and his wife, Anne; Andy Shover, Kate Shover; Tom Shover; Elizabeth Shover; her five great-grandchildren: Linnea, Henry, Vaden, Olivia, Atlas; her sister, Joy Widell Curtis and her husband, Dr. Edward Curtis, of Fullerton, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol graduated from Haddon Heights High School as part of the class of 1955 and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Glasboro State University.  She was a long time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she assisted with child care for the mother’s Bible study group.  Carol was a lifelong librarian at several locations.  She had a love of reading, especially newspapers and magazines, and enjoyed shopping.  Carol loved to travel and enjoyed going on day trips to zoos and museums.  She spent many summers in Ocean City, New Jersey with her family, where she partook in numerous family activities at the beach.  More than anything else, Carol loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Carol’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Burial in Arlington Park Cemetery in Pennsauken, New Jersey will be at the family’s convenience.
