David “Dave” Lenord Rollins

A Big-Hearted Person -

David “Dave” Lenord Rollins, age 54, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Ohio and Dauphin County, went home with his family by his side on Friday, September 21, 2018.  Dave was born on Sunday, November 10, 1963 in Cleveland, OH to Dorothy Eleanor (Lendhurst) Rollins and the late William Benjamin Rollins.  Dave was the widower of Mabel Joyce (Wendel) Rollins, whom he married on June 6, 1987, and who died on July 19, 2014.

Dave’s survivors include his fiancée, Tina Marie Shultz; his son, Keith Rollins of Boiling Springs, PA; his four step-children: Mike Shaffer and his wife, Jessie, and their son, Julian, of Colonial Park, PA, Matt Shaffer of Florida, Courtney Miller and her husband, Curtis, and their children: Isabella and Sage, of Wilmington, DE, Karen Shaffer of Delaware; his granddaughter, Layla Rollins of Syracuse, NY; his mother, Dorothy Rollins of Shippensburg, PA; his three siblings: Angela Rollins of Shippensburg, Mike Rollins of Ohio, and Theresa of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Dave was employed by Miller Environmental, Inc. in Mechanicsburg for the last four years as a driver/operator.  He was a member of Compass Point Church in Mechanicsburg since 2014.  Dave enjoyed watching wrestling, joking around, and window-shopping with his fiancée, Tina.  His true love was fishing, which he did every chance he had.  Dave will be most remembered for his big heart and willingness to do anything for anyone in need.

All are welcome to join Dave’s family at his viewing on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dr. Neil Olcott officiating.  Dave’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to Myers - Buhrig) immediately following the service.
