Donald “Don” Clark Manbeck

A Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather -

Donald “Don” Clark Manbeck, age 85, of Carlisle, went home to his wife on Sunday, July 7, 2019.  Don was born on Wednesday, April 4, 1934 in Burnham to the late William Harrison Manbeck and Anne Elizabeth (Deering) Manbeck.  Don was the widower of Loretta Carolyn (Dull) Manbeck, whom he married on October 20, 1965, and who died on April 7, 2014.  In addition to his parents and wife, Don is preceded in death by his one sister; and five brothers.

Don’s survivors include two daughters: Kimberly “Kim” Morgan and her fiancée, Jason Brandt, of Carlisle, Lori Lauckner and her husband, Shannon, of Binford, ND; his two stepchildren: Clarence “Sonny” Hyser, Jr. of Carlisle, Cindy Osborne of Mechanicsburg; his 2 grandchildren: Samantha Wert, Dakota Lauckner; great-granddaughter: Emerie Wert; his grand-dog, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

Don proudly served in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years until his retirement in 1971.  He had served during the Vietnam War and reached the rank of Staff Seargent.  Don was a life member of Cordell Lodge #127 F & AM in New Cordell, OK.  He enjoyed doing yardwork around the house and always kept his vehicle spotless, inside and out.  Don was an accomplished woodworker who enjoyed making many beautiful pieces for family and friends.  He was firm and outspoken, and a man who raised his children to do the right thing.  Because of his experiences growing up in the Depression, Don always made sure that others were cared for.  Don’s family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Don’s family will be celebrating his life privately.  Interment, with military honors, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
