Devoted to Her Family -

Dorothy “Dot” “Red” M. (Ridley) Hall, age 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 16, 2019. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 66 years.   Dot was born on Thursday, March 19, 1931 in Royalton to the late John Oscar Ridley and Margaret Irene (Conz) Ridley.  Red was the widow of Edward Milton Hall, whom she married on September 10, 1949, and who passed away on March 7, 2016.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dot is preceded in death by her three brothers: John Ridley, Charles Ridley, Richard Ridley; and her three sisters: Mary Herneisey, Margaret Roedel, and Shirley Snyder.

Dot’s survivors include her three children: Sharon K. Hall of Portland, OR, Gary Lee Hall and his wife, Christine, of Yakima, WA, Nancy Anne Hall of Enola; her six grandchildren: Jessica Youngblood, Sara Hall Hayes, Annie Hall, Alicia Stump, Derek Edward Stump and Lucas Cook; her four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including her niece, Joann Ridley.

Dot practiced the Methodist faith and was a former member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. She was also an active member of LA Fitness. Dot had a delightful personality and never stopped being the life of the party.  Dot or “Red”, as she was known by many of her friends and family, was funny, generous, vivacious, and loving.  At the same time, Dot’s home, which was her private space, is something that she truly enjoyed and appreciated.  She adored her family; Dot was a devoted wife, mother, and caregiver at heart.  She frequently showed her love through excellent cooking, always put her family first, and taught her children and grandchildren well.   Dot was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by them dearly.
