Obituary

Frances “Fran” S. (Skultety) Pasco

Woman of Great Faith -

Frances “Fran” S. (Skultetly) Pasco, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021.  Fran was born on Wednesday, February 7, 1934, in Indiana, PA to the late Stephen D. Skultety and Catherine (Leiskosky) Skultety.  In addition to her parents, Fran is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Ann Elmore; her son-in-law, Brian Reed; and her brothers and sisters.

Fran’s survivors include her daughter, Christine “Chris” E. Reed of Camp Hill; her son, Richard “Rick” J. Pasco, Jr. of Carlisle; her two grandchildren: Zackery “Zack” Reed and wife, Judith, of Mechanicsburg, Anna Elmore and significant other, Jason Krause, of Manchester; her two great-grandsons: Ben and Owen Reed; and many nieces and nephews.

Fran graduated from Homer City High School as part of the class of 1952.  She worked for Highmark Blue Shield for 10 years as a clerk and then for Griswald Special Care in Shiremanstown as a caregiver.  Fran attended Life House Church in Carlisle.  She loved playing cards and would get together with her friends to share in some games of Uno, Rummy, Skip-Bo, and even Yahtzee.  Her grandchildren also have fond memories of playing card games with Fran.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for others.  As a caretaker, Fran found a sense of fulfillment caring for the elderly and sharing her time with them.  She was also a woman of great faith; Fran always knew that Jesus would take care of all of her needs. There was never a shortage of laughter when Fran was around.  She could always make others laugh with her sense of humor.  Family was so important to Fran.  She had a special relationship with her sister, Aggie.  The two talked on the phone regularly and even shared the same birthday, just a few years apart.  Her grandchildren and great-grandsons brought tremendous amounts of joy into her life.  To Fran, they were truly God’s greatest gifts.

All are welcome to join Fran’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 12:15 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Kipp Penrod officiating.  Fran’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Burial will follow the reception in St. John’s Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are Mark Elmore, Jason Krause, Steve Miles, Rick Pasco, and Zack Reed.
