Gerald “Jerry” D. Rasmus

Gerald "Jerry" D. Rasmus, 73, of Camp Hill PA, passed from his home into the loving arms of His Lord and Savior on November 25, 2019 following a long battle with cancer.

Born September 18, 1946, in Nanticoke, PA to Felix and Blanche Rasmus, Jerry graduated from Blain Union High School in 1964. After marrying his high school sweetheart and while raising four young children, Jerry graduated from Elizabethtown College. A few years later, Jerry came to know the Lord and follow Him. He answered the call to pastoring and graduated from Myerstown Evangelical Seminary. He pastored the Plainfield Church of God and Reibers Community Church. He lived a life of service to the church and is remembered for his extraordinary gifts of teaching and discipling. He was an Elder and teacher at Grace Bible Fellowship Church. At the time of his illness, he served as an Elder at Grace Reformed Baptist Church, Camp Hill.

Jerry had a keen mind for business and entrepreneurship. Before becoming a pastor, Jerry was employed by EDS, served as the Dean of Students at Central Penn Business School and retired as a financial planner from Prudential Financial. He published a newspaper, Central Pennsylvania Runner and the book, “Winning in Retailing” with his brother and business partner, Jim. Jerry was passionate about running, having regularly conquered Waggoner's Gap Mountain from his home in Perry County. He was an avid bicyclist competing in races throughout his lifetime. Jerry's greatest love, next to His Lord Jesus, was his wife and family. His spiritual influence and love for the Lord reverberates through his children and grandchildren. Some of his greatest moments were spent with his children and grandchildren in Ocean City, New Jersey where he could not pass up a slice of Brother's pizza on the boardwalk.

Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband of 56 years to his bride, Nancy.  The Lord blessed them with four children and seven grandchildren: his daughter, Lisa Ramey (husband Greg and son Jason), son Daniel (wife Jolene and children Noah, Elizabeth and Rachel), son Steve (wife Ann and children Emilee, Loren and Kyle) and son Tim (girlfriend Mary Jo Smoyer). He was a brother and friend to Jim Rasmus of Fernley, NV and Anna Brown (son William Brown) of Hunlock Creek, PA.  Jerry is also survived by his niece, Karen Therrien and his nephews, Patrick Rasmus, John Baranski, Tim Baranski, Keith Forsyth, Mark Forsyth, and Todd Forsyth.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter, Lisa Ramey, his brother, Felix Rasmus, his sisters, Marilyn Baranski and Mary Ann Forsyth, his nephew, Steven Rasmus, and his niece, Victoria Senecal.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 14, 2019 at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 1250 Colonial Road, Harrisburg PA 17112.
