A Heart of Gold -

Howard “Howie” Norman Motter, age 63, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Vineland, NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, April 10, 2021.  Howie was born on Thursday, June 13, 1957, in Vineland, NJ to the late Marlin Motter and Catherine (Campbell) Motter.  In addition to his parents, Howie is preceded in death by his four siblings: Charles Motter, Marlin Motter, Wayne Motter, Sharon Cox; and his beloved feline companion, Sasha, who passed away at his side.

Howie’s survivors include his two daughters: Christina Eisenhour and husband, Samuel, of Lebanon, Stephanie Diaz and fiancé, Elin Roman, of Mechanicsburg; his five grandchildren: Matthew Bellusci, Noah Motter, Angelina Mendez, Gabriella Mendez, Amari Roman; his soon-to-be son-in-law, Elin’s two children (who he always considered to be own grandchildren): Jaden and Damani Roman; his two sisters: Catherine Whilden and husband, Kurt, Roseanne Smith and husband, Juan Crespo; his two sisters-in-law: Debbie Motter, Jamie Singer; his late brother, Wayne’s lifelong friend, Hilda Ripa; his eight nieces: Elaine Kling, Brenda Fabbri, Jodi McClure, Elizabeth, Amber Motter, Janet, Sherry, Patricia; and his five nephews: Anthony, Marlin Motter, Bunk, Jason, Alfred.

Howie retired from GE Mechanical in Vineland, NJ, after many years of service working in plumbing, heating and cooling.  He was a long-time member of Chestnut Assembly of God in Vineland, NJ prior to moving to Mechanicsburg.  After Howie came to Pennsylvania, he began watching Joel Osteen to hear the word of the God.  He loved his Corvette, cheered for the Philadelphia Eagles, was an avid music lover, and couldn’t enough of the crime and mystery shows.  Howie also loved his cat and sidekick, Sasha, who never left his side.  If there was one thing about him that everyone knew, it was that he had a heart of gold.  Howie always wanted to help someone in need; even if it meant giving his last dollar, he would in order to help.  His girls were his world, he affectionately nicknamed Christina - Pumpkin and Stephanie - Sweetie.

Howie’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Interment in Vineland, NJ will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
