James “Jim” Michael Crishock
A Master Griller -
James “Jim” Michael Crishock, age 69, of Hummelstown, died at home, where he wanted to be, on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Jim was born on Wednesday, May 9, 1951, in Colorado Springs, CO to the late Walter John Crishock, Jr. and Jean Beatrice (Hosbach) Crishock. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Crishock.
Jim’s survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia “Patti” Lee (Fischer) Crishock; his two children: Jeffrey “Jeff” Crishock and wife Joanna and their two children: Avery and Ainsley of Mechanicsburg, Rachel Schnaubelt and husband Steven; his brother, John Crishock; his sister, Linda DeFelice and husband Ralph; and his two nephews.
Jim graduated from Academy High School as part of the class of 1970 and from Gannon University in 1977. He served as the chief financial officer for numerous long-term care facilities throughout PA for over 20 years. Prior to his time as a CFO consultant, Jim was part of the financial team at Diversified Health Services; a job and company he loved. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hummelstown. Jim was quite the master griller and his wife, Patti, is a great cook and baker; all talents that he wished his son and daughter-in-law had inherited. He simply adored his granddaughters who he loved to spoil with treats. Jim genuinely loved his children’s spouses and was so happy to have given his daughter’s hand in marriage the Sunday before he died. He will always be remembered for his dry and witty sense of humor as well as the fact that he could not whistle or carry a tune.
All are welcome to join Jim’s family at his viewing on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 14, 2020, both in-person and via video chat and telephone, from 11:00 a.m. until time of virtual viewing at 12:00 p.m. and time of service at 12:15 p.m., all at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Rev.
