Kimberly “Kim” Sue (Higgins) Shaw
Kimberly “Kim” Sue (Higgins) Shaw, age 61, of Carlisle, and formerly of Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Kim was born on Wednesday, November 1, 1961, in Lancaster, OH to Arthur Richard Higgins, Sr. and the late Delores (Kirkpatrick) Rardain. Kim was preceded in death by her late husband, Rodney Gerald Shaw, III, who died on January 3, 2009.
Kim’s survivors include her two daughters: Juanita Amspacker of Mechanicsburg; Amanda Boyer and her husband, Aaron, of New Oxford; her five grandchildren: Alexis, Aidan, Wyatt, Emmett, David; her two brothers: Arthur “Art” Higgins and his spouse of Ohio; Rick Rardain of Ohio; her three sisters: Alma Maclean and her husband, Mack, of Ohio; Machele West of South Carolina; Jennifer Turner and her husband, Tom, of Ohio; her fiance, Doug Abreght of New Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
Kim graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1993. She was notoriously terrible with technology, and loved music, movies and TV, cooking and camping. She was a woman of strong beliefs and deeply loved her grandchildren. Kim will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
All are welcome to join Kim’s family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a service at 4:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating. Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots. Cremation was private.
