Steadfast and Easy-Going -

Larry Jerald Jeffcoat, age 87, of Dillsburg, and formerly of Irwin and Swansea, SC, went home on Thursday, July 16, 2020.  Larry was born on Saturday, May 27, 1933, in Swansea, SC to the late Colin John Jeffcoat and Roberta (Rowell) Jeffcoat.  Larry was the widower of Margaret Louise (Duncan) Jeffcoat, whom he married on December 1, 1950, and who died on January 21, 2001.  In addition to his parents and wife, Larry is preceded in death by his six brothers and three sisters.

Larry’s survivors include his three children: Leonard “Len” Jeffcoat and wife Sarah of Baytown, TX, John Jeffcoat of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Oneufer of Dillsburg; his daughter-in-heart, Cheryl Lynn Jeffcoat of Irwin; his four grandchildren: Courtney Lyn Burger of Sarver, Zachary L. Jeffcoat of MN, LeeAnne Jeffcoat-Moseley of MN, Nick L. Oneufer of Dillsburg; his five great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his sister: Rean Jeffcoat-Miller of Swansea, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry retired after many years as a self-employed masonry contractor.  He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin, where he faithfully served as an usher.   Larry was a member of Shidle Lodge #601 F&AM in Irwin.  Larry was part of a large family and showered them all with unconditional love.  He was known as “Pappy” to all of his grandchildren, whom he doted on.  Larry, who loved to be outside, was a hard worker and always willing to lend a hand to those who needed it.  He grew vegetables and fruit trees and spent many hours tinkering with lawn mowers and trucks.  Larry was a talented contractor and he built the home that he and Marge lived in for many years.  His wonderful sense of humor and his positive attitude will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Larry’s family will be holding services at a later date.  Cremation was private.

While Larry’s family will not be accepting flowers, they invite those wishing to celebrate his life with a memorial contribution to make them to the Alzheimer's Association – Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110, www.Act.Alz.org/Donate.
