Devoted to Her Family -

Marcia Ann (Bair) Johnson, age 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, following her battle with cancer.  Marcia was born on Thursday, March 17, 1938, in Harrisburg to the late Clayton William Bair, Sr. and Evelyn G. (Hardy) Bair.  In addition to her parents, Marcia is preceded in death by her brother, Clayton Bair, Jr.; and her sister, Donna Thran.

Marcia’s survivors include her husband of 56 years, William “Bill” LeRoy Johnson, Sr.; her four children: Laurie Matthews and companion John Foster of Henderson, NV, Jennie Dennison and husband Russ of Carlisle, William “Billy” Johnson, Jr. and wife Joy of Carlisle, Lee Johnson and husband Mark of Carlisle; her six beloved grandchildren: Doug Bender, Melanie Difilippi, Jessica Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Skylar Johnson and Jared Johnson; her four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marcia attended John Harris High School until her junior year and graduated from Camp Hill High School as part of the class of 1955.  She retired from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Camp Hill, after 25 years of service working as a data entry clerk.  Marcia excelled at painting the walls of her home; and always kept her home looking nice.  Marcia enjoyed traveling with her family; and always looked forward to vacations to Assateague Island, Chincoteague Island, and, her favorite, Disney World.  Marcia and Bill took many car trips through the countryside, often stopping at Amish variety stores.  She loved to watch cardinals outside her window and enjoyed watching eagles soar through the air.  Marcia was a great cook and baker.  Everyone loved her fresh baked bread & muffins, homemade potato salad & meatballs; and especially her baked spaghetti, because of the homemade sauce.  She spent countless hours growing vegetables in her garden and many more canning and preserving them to use in delicious meals for her family.  Marcia loved to decorate her home for every holiday; it always looked so festive.  Christmas-time was Marcia’s favorite season.  Giving gifts to others and seeing the joy on their faces filled her heart with endless amounts of happiness.  Her family was so important to her that she never missed her grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities.  Marcia’s family fondly remembers that she was a loving mother, grandmother and wife, who devoted her entire life to keeping the family cared for.  It was the reason that God put her here on Earth and her family and friends will miss her greatly.

All are welcome to join Marcia’s family at her viewing in person; or via video chat or telephone, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until time of virtual viewing at 12:00 p.m. and funeral service at 12:15 p.m., all at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Chaplain Alan Echard officiating.  Marcia’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Entombment will follow the reception in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.   Honored to be pallbearers are:  William Johnson, Jr., Russ Dennison, Mark Johnson, Tom Young, John Wynn, and Jason Farrow.
