She and Mike started the Shiremanstown Historical Society and she enjoyed visiting a local homeless community where she helped to provide food, clothing, blankets, tents and more. Mary was a member of Road to Emmaus Presbyterian Church at 5050 Linglestown Road in Harrisburg where she was active in bible studies. She loved to plant flowers in the spring when she was able and she enjoyed the small family vegetable garden as long as there were tomatoes galore.
