A Kind and Genuine Man -

Ralph Morris Staley, age 80, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center on Monday, August 17, 2020.  Ralph was born on Thursday, July 18, 1940, in Harrisburg.  Ralph was the widower of Marieta “Chris” Christine (Mills) Staley, who died on November 14, 2009.

Ralph’s survivors include his companion, Cathleen “Cathy” Marie (McLaren) Haas of Mechanicsburg; and his beloved poodle, Cindy.

Ralph was employed for many years by Appleton Paper Company in Camp Hill.  He was a long time member of Christian Life Assembly.  In his younger years, Ralph enjoyed hunting in the fields and forests of Pennsylvania. He was an avid NASCAR fan who loved to tune into the races on Sunday afternoons.  He also loved classic cars and enjoyed going to local car shows.  He and Cathy would often go to travel the roads of Lancaster County to visit the farmers markets, to take in the sights of the Amish way of life, and to eat at Yoder’s Restaurant & Buffet.  Ralph was kind and genuine.  He was always Ralph and never pretended to be anyone but himself.  He cherished the time that he spent with Cathy and her family.  They will miss him greatly.

All are welcome to join Ralph’s family at his viewing on Monday, August 24, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Lee E. Hyman officiating.  Entombment will follow the service in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
