Robert Ronald Moyer “Bob”

Adored his Family -

Robert Ronald Moyer “Bob”, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  Bob was born on Saturday, March 7, 1936, in Mechanicsburg to the late Joseph Albert Moyer and Florence Elizabeth (Waggoner) Moyer.  Bob was the widower of Mary Ann (Griffiths) Moyer, whom he married on March 31, 1957, and who died on February 13, 2015.  In addition to his parents and wife, Bob is preceded in death by his three brothers: Newton Moyer, Grant Moyer, Melvin Moyer; and his four sisters: Wilma Moyer, Thelma Chose, Catherine Moyer and Grace Moyer.

Bob’s survivors include his five children: Pamela A. Wise and her husband, Kirk, of Mechanicsburg; Ron Moyer of Stafford, VA; Katherine Y. Kautz and her husband, Brian, of Enola; J. Andrew Moyer and his wife, Shannon, of Mechanicsburg; Jennifer E. Tanksley and her husband, Scott, of Roswell, GA; his 11 grandchildren: Stephanie Wise, Landon Wise, Elizabeth Kautz, Jack Kautz, Lindsay Beauvard, Teddy Kautz, Jacob Kautz, Nicholas Moyer, Olivia Moyer, Aron Tanksley and Sean Tanksley; his eight great-grandchildren: Oscar, Willow, Evelyn, Winnie, Emery, Gwenna, Milo and Jackelyne; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1954.  He retired from the State Public School Building Authority in 2004, after many years of service working as a draftsman/engineer.  Bob was a life time member of the Mechanicsburg Fire Department, former chief of Washies Station #28, and former assistant fire chief of Mechanicsburg.  He was a founding member of Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg, where he served as financial secretary, and was formerly a deacon and church board member.  Bob was extremely artistic, an avid “DIYer”, and was always very supportive of his children’s creative efforts.  When he wasn’t at church or fighting fires, he enjoyed practicing calligraphy, drawing, photography, shooting firearms and watching the History Channel.  Mary Ann was the love of Bob’s life and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his pride and joy; he absolutely adored his family.  Bob will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
